Raspberry Pi Spotify Player With 3D Printed Case: In this instructable I am going to show you how to make a Raspberry Pi based Music Player that can play local music, web radio stations and acts as a spotify connect speaker, all housed in a wall mountable 3D printed case.I built this music player f.
Part 1. Add Spotify Playlist to Volumio: Volumio Spotify Plugin
The direct way to listen to Spotify music on Volumio is to install the Volumio Spotify plugin. But it should be noticed that this method is only available for Spotify premium or family accounts. Now let's see how to install the Volumio Spotify Plugin in detail.
From the very beginning, you should check and remove the existed plugin by using the WebUI plugins page. Then continue to install the latest version of the Volumio Spotify plugin.
- Wouter van Wijk published a clever bootable image that turns your Raspberry Pi into a remote Spotify server with little to no tinkering. The software itself has no GUI, but you can control music.

Step 1. Please click to https://volumio.github.io/docs/User_Manual/SSH.html to enable SSH to Volumio.
Step 2. Access Volumio Spotify plugin by type in the following commands:
Wget https://github.com/balbuze/volumio-plugins/raw/master/plugins/music_service/volspotconnect2/volspotconnect2.zip
mkdir ./volspotconnect2
miniunzip volspotconnect2.zip -d ./volspotconnect2
cd ./volspotconnect2
volumio plugin install
cd ..
rm -Rf volspotconnect*
mkdir ./volspotconnect2
miniunzip volspotconnect2.zip -d ./volspotconnect2
cd ./volspotconnect2
volumio plugin install
cd ..
rm -Rf volspotconnect*
Step 3. In the Volumio WebUI page, please go to the plugin section and installed it. Then you will see volspotconnect2. Please enable it. Now you can go to the plugin settings page to modify some parameters.
Now you can enjoy your favorite tracks from Spotify on Volumio.
When was the last time you tried listening to a new genre of music, or even explored a sub-genre of something you already like? That’s what we thought. It’s good to listen to other stuff once in a while and remind ourselves that there’s a whole lot of music out there, and our tastes are probably not all that diverse. As a reminder, [sorghum] made a spiffy little Spotify remote that can cruise through the musical taxonomy that is Every Noise at Once and control any Spotify-enabled device.
There’s a lot to like about this little remote, which is based upon a LilyGo TTGO ESP32 board with on-board display. The circuitry is basically that and a rotary encoder plus a tiny LiPo battery. Can we talk about the finish on those prints? Yes, those are both printed enclosures. Getting that buttery smooth finish took two grits of wet/dry sandpaper plus nine grits of polishing cloths.
As you can see in the brief demo after the break, there are several ways to discover new music. [sorghum] can surf through all kinds of Japanese music for example, or surf by the genre’s ending word and listen to metalcore, deathcore, and grindcore from all over the globe. For extra fun, there’s a genre-ending randomizer so you can discover just how many forms of *core there are.
